Thanks to the following Snomads and Northwest Trails members for moving the trail shelter to a better spot in February 2016 (just up the hill off Lake Independence): Randy Baudler,Steve Hohag, Ray Ehrlich, Scott Carlson, Josh Jeatran, Colin Brown, Josh, Mark Kolasa (& his Bobcat) and Jared Stotts (and his Bobcat and trailer).
It was a huge job to construct, but Ezra Bisson, the Carpentry expert with the Maple Plain Snomads, had the plan that was executed with precision and he kicked butt! Colin Brown spearheaded the project along with the following cast of characters:
Marc Dahlquist, Scott Jones, Marge & Darryl Jerdee, Grant Scheibe, Mark Kolasa, Steve Hohag, Gerry Hanson Jay Bernards and Gene Zopfi. A special THANKS to Marge Jerdee for bringing us Lunch and Clive Burton for supplying some heat along with Windows and the Door!
We used some of the Northwest Trail signs collecting dust inside the shed, which are now affixed to the shelter to proudly proclaim "We are Northwest Trails Association"!
Northwest Trails members used the groomer to position the shelter on the north side of Lake Independence.
Look for the location on the new trail map.
